Balloon Photos this Morning

Posted on

This morning we went out to the tell and took aerial photos with Sky View. Once again, the photos came out great and really give us a great view of the site, letting you see it in a way that you can’t see it from the ground, and allowing you to make special observations.  Here are a few good views of the excavations:

nice view of the tell looking southwest
View of Eastern Section and Fortifications
Closeup of the casemate
A couple of Silos from the 7th Century BCE
8th Century Levels in the middle of the summit
Area B
Closeup of LB Wall and Tabun
Nice General View of the Tell

it is great to have such an opportunity to see from bird eye: what you see from here you don’t see from there”.
It would be nice 🙂 so to take aerial photos which focus on “suspected” areas such as the optional location of the Gate etc.
all in all, great dig, great fun and don’t forget it is only the beginning.
Looking forward to find the line which will establish Burna with Livna

Very nice! I’d really like to know what’s happening with the casemate wall around the square that I dug in for a couple of days this year.

HI Tim, well, the casemate wall you excavated can now be securely dated to the 8th and 9th Centuries BCE. there are also two walls of a building attached to the casemate wall, running west of the wall, and bonded to it fro the inside.
