Today,, this week’s group met up at Kibbutz Netiv Halamed Hey, our base camp, where we spent the day getting ready and doing stuff in preparation for tomorrow. We ran much of the tools to the tell, washed and read some pottery from the spring season, and got things set up at the base camp for the week.
All in all it looks like a great group of about 24 volunteers (many with past archaeological experience), so we should be about 30 people on the tell tomorrow morning, putting up tents and starting to dig. in addition, a class from a local school will be joining us to do some work as well.
